private beach house - nassau, bahamas

Four timber shells are arranged to take advantage from the coast geography by opening the front to the sea and closing the back to the street. The house becomes the perfect scenography for three large terraces with swimming pool, which work as a link between beach and building. The whole geometry is based in a solid core containing the staircase and a fireplace as heart of the house. Around this element all public and private spaces are organized.

The use of recyclable materials and inclusion of energy saving concepts are fully integrated to this work to obtain a thermal conductivity coefficient of 0.14W/m²K as average value for all the facades. The timber shells could be closed with sliding shutters in order to control the light and protect the house in case of hurricanes. All the rooms have a cross ventilation system to reduce as much possible the use of air condition

ifa 2010 samsung main pavillion - berlin

In 2011 the CES in Las Vegas was rated as the main event of the year for Samsung, which is why the IFA 2011 design had to be based on the same general concept and key highlights.

We tryed to further develop the main highlight (Smart Cube), connecting it to the blue band (wall) and the ground as if it were dissolving. Through this gesture, the cube connects and domains the whole hall, created an arrangement where the remaining elements found its place. In contrast to the IFA 2010, a compact overall design was created, in which no elements seems to be lost in the 3800 sqm big hall.

mexico city towers - mexico city

Two skyscrapers, with 100 floors each, to celebrate the bicentenary of Mexico's independence in 2010. The project consists in setting each tower in two strategic areas of Mexico City: the Azcapotzalco Technology Park and the Xochimilco Ecology Park, establishing dialectic between content and void; between built object and urban landscape.

The towers favour mixed uses (permanent or temporary housing, offices, workshops, businesses, etc.) and blurs the limits between the public and private domains.

The IFA in Berlin is the world's largest consumer electronics trade show attended by all the major electronics companies for six days.

Samsung Electronics presented itself in the 3800 sqm. Hall 20. Our assignment was to keep on developing the 2009 IFA concept: a nature that continues to grow, and take it up further. Therefore the main element of the exhibition was the "leaf", which grows or breaks through the ground exhibing the freshly ripened Samsung products. Main highlight of the installation was the smart cube, with a stage for product presentations in the inside. The hall was surrounded by line-ups, which followed the general design language, but slightly differentiating from each other. Each zone also had it own highlight presenting the star-product.
